This half term, we will be learning about the Industrial Revolution and we are looking forward to finding out about the birth of the railways especially the opinions of those who were for and against this advance in transport technology. We will also be looking how children in particular were affected during this period in British history. In the second half term, we will be off on our exciting residential trip to Hathersage. Mrs Gear's class will be staying from the 4th to the 6th of November and Mr Windibank's class from the 6th to the 8th of November. In science, we will be learning about the light and light sources before going on to learn about electricity in time to find out how fairy lights work on our Christmas trees. For more detailed information, please click on the Curriculum Information document, below.
We can't wait to see the Creative Curriculum homework that the children bring in this time. Our topic is the Industrial Revolution, so maybe they could have a go at creating a steam engine, making a model of Stephenson's Rocket, creating a fact file on children during the Industrial Revolution. The deadline is Wednesday 13th November but you can bring them in any time before then. Any early creations can have their photos put on the website to inspire others with ideas and motivation. We're very much looking forward to seeing what gets brought in!
