A book bag with your reading book and diary
A lunch box if you are not having a school dinner
In Year 1, we promote an ethos of: Respect; Honesty; Trust; and Care. These values are shared throughout our school community.
Please remember to check the Class Dojo pages regularly for everyday updates, photos and reminders of what is happening in Year 1.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to talk to a member of the Year 1 team - they will be more than happy to help.
Our aim for our Year 1 children is to promote a love of learning through lots of discussion and questioning to help deepen and further their thinking. We enjoy coming across different problems and learning how to solve them. The Year 1 children are encouraged to become more independent with their learning and thinking but they also understand that it is okay to ask for help and make mistakes.

Year 1 Curriculum Overview
Homework
Homework is an important part of supporting your child's learning in school. Reading 3 times per week at home with an adult signature in the reading diary will support your child's reading and develop a love of books. Homework will be given out each term.
