Year 2
Welcome to Year 2!
The classes in Year 2 are Pine Class and Acer Class.
Pine Class: Miss Elliott (class teacher) and Mrs Chadwick (class teaching assistant)
Acer Class: Mrs Wood (class teacher) and Mrs Greaves (class teaching assistant)
In Year 2, we promote an ethos of: Respect; Integrity; Compassion; Humility; Endeavour; and Responsibility. These values are shared throughout our school community.
Our aim in Year 2 is to promote a love of learning through discussion and questioning. We enjoy coming across different problems and learning how to solve them.

Year 2 Life-Long Learners Curriculum Plan
Reading
The children will bring home two reading books. One book will be their reading book which is aligned with their phonic knowledge and the other book will be a 'Reading for Pleasure' book. It is important that the children read their reading book at least 3 times a week and that any reading at home is recorded in their reading records. The 'Reading for Pleasure' book is a book that can be shared at home for enjoyment so that children develop a love for reading.

PE
During Summer, PE will be on a Friday. Please ensure the children bring indoor named Northfield PE kit in a bag and have all earrings and jewellery removed.
